Founder and Executive Director of Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America (SARDAA). Ms. Stalters is a retired Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Psychotherapist with broad ranging experience as clinical practitioner, educator, advocate, organizer and speaker. She is the recipient of many professional leadership awards including National Association of Women Business Owners Non-Profit Woman Business Owner of the Year; Veterans Administration Medical Center Neuropsychiatric Nurse of the Year and Army Spirit of Nursing Award; American Psychotherapy Association Distinguished Service and Outstanding Leadership Awards. She has served as Disaster Mental Health Manager for American Red Cross; Mental Health Association of Montgomery County Board of Directors and National Capitol Area Red Cross Board of Directors; committee member American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Schizophrenia Best Practices and Practice Analysis Committees; APNA Representative to American Red Cross Disaster Mental Health Partners; American Psychotherapy Association and SARDAA Representative to Mental Health Liaison Group Policy Committee and Privacy Sub group, actively advocating for legislation for improved mental health services. National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Alliance for Research Progress and NIMH Outreach Partner representative for SARDAA providing an assertive “voice” for people experiencing psychosis; helping improve lives affected by neuro-psychiatric illnesses. She is committed to driving improved patient care through education, patient advocacy and clinical practice.
