Fundraising/Grant Writing, Photography
I am half of Dos Polacas. The other half is Sharon Eva Grainger (on the right in my profile photograph), a photographer, National Geographic photo instructor, ethno botanist and 5th generation artist. Together, we work on humanitarian projects within indigenous communities in Central and North America. Using interviews as the departure point, Sharon creates portrait photography while I interview our indigenous collaborators, transcribing interviews and creating context for the readers outside of the community. We listen to the community working with them to achieve their goals. We keep coming back to the role elders play within indigenous communities in sustaining their language, their culture and preparing their youth for the future. We will be launching a Kickstarter campaign March 2016 to finsih and publish our first full-length book.
